Mumford & Sons unveil new single 'Malibu' ahead of fifth album
Mumford & Sons' long-awaited fifth album, Rushmere, will launch on March 28.
Mumford & Sons have released 'Malibu', the second single from their upcoming album Rushmere.
"Malibu was the first song we wrote when we got back together in Los Angeles in January 2023," said Marcus Mumford. "The song just felt like us, and the process of recording it with Dave [Cobb] captured it on record in a way that made us feel it had to open Rushmere. We love it."
Rushmere will be the folk rock band's first album since their 2018 release, Delta, and is produced by Dave Cobb. The record's name comes from an area in Wimbledon where the group first met and came up with the idea of starting a band.
It marks their first LP since the departure of guitarist and banjo player Winston Marshall, who left Mumford & Sons in 2021 following his controversial praise of right-wing agitator Andy Ngo.
Founders Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane are the current members of Mumford & Sons.
Rushmere is set to release on March 28. Pre-order information can be found here.
