Mott The Hoople drummer Dale 'Buffin' Griffin has died

A sad few weeks for rock 'n' roll have just become even sadder with the news that Mott The Hoople founder member Dale 'Buffin' Griffin has died in Hertfordshire from complications arising from Alzheimer's. He was 67.
Buffin drummed on such classic tunes as 'Roll Away The Stone', 'All The Way From Memphis', 'Roll Away The Stone', 'Honaloochie Boogie' and 'All The Young Dudes', which was gifted to them by David Bowie.
During the '80s, he produced numerous John Peel sessions including early Pulp, Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana visits to the Beeb and albums for the likes of Hanoi Rocks, The Cult and New Model Army.
Like his Mott The Hoople bandmates, he was a massive influence on Def Leppard who one imagines will be drinking to his memory tonight.
