Motorhead to stream Lemmy's funeral this weekend
Memorial service will take place in Hollywood
Motorhead have announced that the memorial service for their legendary frontman, Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister, will be streamed this weekend.
The event will take place across the entire of Hollywood's famous Sunset Strip from 5pm to 9pm local time - which means a suitably late night for Irish fans, as that translates as 1am to 5am Irish time.
The band have appealed to fans worldwide to get involved. "Wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch the service with fellow Motorheadbangers and friends," the band posted in a statement.
"Go to your favourite bar, or your favourite club, make sure they have access to an internet connection and toast along with us. Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm's life at home. Whatever your venue, and however you can, let's be sure to gather globally on Saturday, January 9 and celebrate the life of our dear friend and irreplaceable icon."
The rock god died on December 28, just days after learning of a cancer diagnosis.
