Morrissey ok after hospital scare
Morrissey has been released from hospital in England where he had been held overnight following his collapse during a show last week.
The singer had been on stage at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon last Saturday night as part of his Swords tour when two band members ran to his aide and helped him offstage. The audience did not know what had happened and waited for him to return to continue the performance.
As one eye-witness said, "I didn't think he looked particularly well. He kept putting his hand up to his mouth as if he felt sick or perhaps he was trying to hide something, but he didn't look particularly comfortable. He got through the whole song though ... to rapturous applause at the end."
A spokesperson for the Great Western Hospital in Swindon announced the singer was "Morrissey became unwell, and was admitted overnight as a precautionary measure. He's been seen by the medical team and discharged."
A note on Morrissey's website thanks fans for their support. He has rescheduled several shows this year, and is set to perform a series of European dates in October and November.
