Fizzy Orange: "Electric Picnic was a canon event for all of us"
As part of our special Festival Voices series, Fizzy Orange look ahead to Electric Picnic 2025...
FIZZY ORANGE
“We’re really excited to playing Electric Picnic this year. We’re really lucky to have seen a lot of EPs. A good few of us would have been the hippie kids. We’d be hanging around the festival with our parents, our neighbours. I remember fondly when I was younger, I saw Robert Plant with The Sensational Space Shifters — I think a few of us would have been at that in 2013. I saw Toots and the Maytals, Wu-Tang Clan – they made an impression. EP was a canon event for all of us. We were lucky to have got that window into so many Electric Picnics when we were growing up. And not only is it fun for the kids, there’s great family vibes at the festival. Anyone who got down for the weekend when they were young has lots of fun memories.
"It’s only two years ago that a few of us were pulling pints behind the bars there, wishing we could be up on the stage. Now we are! Last year was our first go – we played Trailer Park on the Sunday and had a deadly day. We got good weather and a big crowd. But we’re looking forward to this year even more. We’re really delighted to be back. We’re planning a real live rock and roll show. It’s going to be brilliant.”
Fizzy Orange’s EP Old Ones is out now. They're set to play both Fish Town and Salty Dog at Electric Picnic 2025 – which returns to Stradbally Hall in Co. Laois from August 29–31.
