Morrissey: An Academic Look
The thinking man's take on the thinking man's musician...
Looking for a music book with a difference? Then look no further than Morrissey: Fandom, Representations and Identities.
Tom Dunne was present at the launch that took place at the University of Limerick earlier this week. The tome is a collection of essays that focuses on Moz's solo career in tremendous detail, employing academic approaches including musicology, ethnography, sociology and cultural studies to make sense of the global icon that is Morrissey.
Edited by the University of Limerick's Eoin Devereux, Aileen Dillane and Martin Power, it's the definitive exploration of one of music's most controversial and enduring figures.
The UK launch takes place on October 7 in Waterstone's at Deansgate in Manchester. In the meantime you can buy the book here.
