Wolf Alice release new single ahead of their upcoming album
The new song can be heard below.
UK rock band Wolf Alice released their new single 'The Sofa' today. The song is their second single released ahead of their new album The Clearing [out August 22] after 'Bloom Baby Bloom'.
The single is about "falling in love with your life for exactly what it is and finally letting go of unrealised dreams without shame, guilt or disappointment as you grow older," according to a statement.
A music video for 'The Sofa' directed by Fiona Jane Burgess, who previously directed music videos for names such as Girl in Red and Christina Aguilera, was also released today.
In a recent exclusive interview with Hot Press, Frontwoman Ellie Rowsell said she wanted their new album to be "something that evokes a sense of peace ... The feeling of when you have a nice, quiet moment to yourself. I feel like The Clearing conjures up a sense of that."
Wolf Alice started in 2013 "as a young band holding a mirror up to their own emerging generation," according to a statement. Since then, the group have gone on to release three albums, win a Mercury Music Prize and a Brit Award for Best Group, go on multiple world tours and perform at numerous festivals - most recently at Glastonbury.
The band are set to perform later this year at 3Arena, Dublin on December 10.
Wolf Alice's upcoming album can be pre-ordered here.
