Metallica confirm Dublin arena date

Tickets for the gig on June 11 go on sale at 9am on Thursday February 16 making them an ideal “Sorry, I forgot!” gift for anybody who overlooked Valentine’s Day two days earlier.
“We had planned for ’06 a year dedicated to nothing but writing and recording,” reads an official band communiqué. “Oh well, how the best laid plans can change!”
The official Metallica mailing-list suggests that the bash is a sister event to the UK’s Download festival, which is taking place at Donnington Park from June 9 to 11 and also features The Prodigy, Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine among its heavy hitters.
