The Mary Stokes Band to return to Cork Jazz Festival
The songstress' appearances at the festival are tradition.
The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival wouldn't be the same without the usual presence of The Mary Stokes Band, and luckily this year won't be any different, with the group set to perform five shows over this weekend, from October 26th to 28th, in their regular haunt of Counihan’s Bar on Pembroke Street.
Mary and her band have incredibly performed in Counihans during the festival for more than twenty years , playing five shows to packed houses throughout the festival, with afternoon shows and night time stormers.
Joining Mary in leading the group will be the familiar figure of Brian Palm on the harp, while there is an otherwise entirely new look to the band with Chris Byrne on bass, Robbie Barrett on drums, and Irish female guitar player extraordinaire Sarah Michelle adding to the already rousing line up.
