Rory Gallagher special event to take place in Cork City Hall for Cork Jazz Festival

Cork Jazz Festival have announced a special event to mark 30 years since Rory Gallagher's passing.

Rory Gallagher: The Legend Lives On will take place at the Cork Opera house this October 26.

As part of celebrations to honour the rock legend's death, a group of Irish musicians will play in the famous venue where Rory recorded much of his Irish Tour 1974 live album.

Some of the acts set to play are Deuce, Moonchild and Crow Black Chicken.

Already this year there has been multiple exhibitions at Cork City Hall, a permanent Rory Gallagher walking trail, and commemorative events throughout the city, launched to mark the 30 years since his death. Joe Bonamassa also honoured Rory earlier this year, by reviving many classic Rory songs with three concerts at the Marquee in July.
