Maria Doyle Kennedy to release covers album
Meteor Music Award nominee Maria Doyle Kennedy is finally giving a full release to her 2005 Skullcover album, which has previously only been available through her website.
A suitably feisty affair, it includes her “interpretive acoustic” takes on The Cure’s ‘Lovesong’, The Buggles’ ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’, Perry Como’s ‘And I Love You So’, Thin Lizzy’s ‘Still In Love With You’, Tom Petty’s ‘Breakdown’, Elvis Costello’s ‘Shipbuilding’, Nat King Cole’s ‘Red Sails In The Sunset’, John Martyn’s ‘Could Not Love You More’ and ABBA’s ‘SOS’.
February 8 also sees the re-release of Charm, her debut 2001 solo album, which includes the classic ‘Stars Above’.
