Maria Doyle Kennedy lands Dexter role
She's playing an Irish nanny hired to look after the anti-hero's son.
Showtime have confirmed that Maria Doyle Kennedy has landed a recurring role in season five of Dexter.
The former star of The Commitments and The Tudors is playing an Irish nanny hired to care for Dexter’s son Harrison.
The new series will find the psychopathic Miami Metro Police Department blood-splatter analyst “grappling with the reality of the death of his wife, his feelings of loss and grief – emotions he’s never felt before.”
Also joining the cast is Julia O’Hara Stiles who’s CV includes 10 Things I Hate About You and the Bourne series of films. As you can probably tell from the name, the New Yorker is of Irish descent on her dad’s side.
The new season of Dexter premieres in the States on September 26.
