Makers of Love/Hate to create new drama for RTÉ
The makers of Love/Hate and Irish crime novelist Jo Spain have been selected to produce a new six-part drama for RTÉ.
The new series, called Taken Down has received €350,000 from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, and is Spain's first television drama to be produced.
Previously she has written the Inspector Tom Reynolds series of novels, in addition to The Confession and With our Blessing.
Taken Down will be produced by Spiral Pictures, whose managing director Suzanne McAuley produced Love/Hate, RAW and Clean Break.
The creator of Love/Hate Stuart Carolan recently became a company director in Spiral Pictures, as has former Love/Hate director David Caffrey (Peaky Blinders, Prime Suspect 1973).
Love/Hate was a huge ratings smash for RTÉ, attracting more than half the television watching audience by the end of its run in 2014.
