Madra Salach and more to play Paris showcase of experimental traditional Irish music

Petit Bain – a floating cultural venue located on the Seine in Paris – is set to play host to a special showcase of experimental traditional Irish music this evening, September 15, featuring performances from Madra Salach, Rún, lullahush, and Kevin Fowley.

The event, titled 'Ritual Ireland', is an off-season offering from Rage Sacrée – a French festival, founded last year, that platforms artists on the fringes of contemporary and experimental traditional music.

The show – which is supported by Culture Ireland – costs €22 to attend, with tickets available here.

Madra Salach's performance at Petit Bain comes ahead of a busy run of tour dates – including a UK tour, kicking off on September 30. In November, the Irish alternative-folk six-piece – who signed to Island Records this year – will embark on a short tour of North America, followed by Irish dates in December.

Also performing on the night are experimental Irish trio Rún, who released their powerful self-titled album last year, via Rocket Recordings. 2025 also saw genre-bending Dublin artist lullahush – who was previously nominated for the Ivor Novello's Rising Star Award – release his acclaimed album Ithaca, via independent label Future Classic.

Kevin Fowley, meanwhile, will be bridging the gap between the Irish and French tradition at the event – with his Franco-Irish upbringing having shaped À Feu Doux, his 2024 debut on renowned UK label Basin Rock.

Later this month, on September 26, another off-season Rage Sacrée event will be taking place in Paris – with Dublin-formed four-piece Landless performing an intimate concert in the Centre Culturel Irlandais's 18th-century chapel.

Finally, on November 6, Petit Bain will be hosting a Rage Sacrée off-season collaboration with the UK's Supersonic festival, featuring Waterford-raised artist Katie Kim and Irish-based Kurdish/Syrian singer and bouzouki player Mohammad Syfkhan.

The 2026 edition of Rage Sacrée took place in March, and featured Cork band Pebbledash.
