Lucian Grainge, Universal Music Group Chairman/CEO, hospitalized with Coronavirus
Sir Lucian Grainge has been hospitalized after testing positive for coronavirus, multiple sources have confirmed, following the initial report by Variety.
Grainge has been recognized for his many achievements throughout the years. In 2020, Billboard named Grainge as the publication’s first-ever Executive of the Decade after previously appearing at No. 1 on Billboard’s “Power 100” in 2019, 2016, 2015 and 2013 as the most powerful executive in the music business, the only person to hold that distinction four times and in consecutive years.
Word of Grainge’s illness has rattled West Coast power players who attended his 60th birthday celebration on February 29 in Palm Springs. The event was held at La Quinta’s Madison Club, an enclave of private residences on a pristine golf course and communal facilities at the Madison Club have been shut down in response.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.
