Hozier surpasses 1 Billion streams on Spotify with 'Too Sweet'
Hozier has scored another massive coup, with his 2024 hit 'Too Sweet' scaling the billion streams mark on Spotify.
Taken from the Unheard EP, released earlier this year, 'Too Sweet' is Hozier’s second single to be added to the elusive “Billions Club” Playlist on Spotify, reaching a billion streams this week after just six months. The Irish superstar first achieved this milestone with 'Take Me To Church, which has since streamed in excess of 2 billion times, making it the most-streamed Irish song of all time.
'Too Sweet' also was Hozier’s first ever Irish No.1 single on the officials singles chart. Global domination followed with the wildly popular track landing at No.1 on the US, UK, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand Spotify Top 50 Charts. In the US, 'Too Sweet' hit the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Hozier thus became the first Irish Artist in 34 years to reach the top spot. 'Too Sweet' is also certified Double Platinum in the UK.
Also announced this week, Hozier has been nominated for Best Alternative and Best UK & Ireland Act at the MTV EMAs. The EMAs will take place in Manchester on Sunday 10th November and will be broadcast live at 9pm. Voting is now open at www.mtvema.com
