Lorde teases new music and return from 4-year hiatus
Following months of quiet, it looks like Lorde really is returning imminently.
New Zealand pop star Lorde updated her website today, and fans are excited about the possibility of a return from her 4 year hiatus.
The website showcased what appears to be the cover art for Lorde's next single, 'Solar Power'. Though the release date has yet to be announced, the tag line on Lorde's website reads: "Arriving in 2021...patience is a virtue". It was also announced last month that Lorde would be headlining Primavera festival in 2022, so all signs point to the singer-songwriter's imminent return.
Lorde's last album, Melodrama, was released in 2017 to critical acclaim, with Hot Press saying: "The real surprise is that Melodrama is every bit the equal of predecessor Pure Heroine, with Lorde progressing as a songwriter even as she stays umbilically connected to the wide-eyed melancholia that set her apart from other pop stars."
Little is known about the pop singer's forthcoming album, but she has more or less confirmed that she will be working with Jack Antonoff of Bleachers – the legendary producer and musician who also helmed production on Melodrama.
