The singer's appearance prompted many to suggest she was merely miming to a backing track on Saturday night
Lorde has moved to dispel rumours that she was lip-syncing during a performance on Saturday Night Live.
The New Zealander was appearing with Disclosure to perform the track 'Magnets', when some viewers took to social media to accuse the teenager of miming.
I'm not crazy, right? Lorde is totally lip syncing on SNL, yeah? #SNL

Lorde is lip syncing right? The timing looks off. Her dancing reminds of Elaine on Seinfeld. Stick to singing. #SNL

In reply, however, the singer took to her own Twitter account to promise that she was not - and, indeed, has never and will never be - lip-syncing, and even acknowledged that it was praise indeed that some viewers felt she couldn't be quite so note-perfect live.
wow - the fact that some people thought i was lip syncing on snl is an awesome compliment! goes without saying i have never/will never haha
