Lord Huran: Time To Run
Lord's latest ep a worldy affair
Time To Run is the latest EP from California musician Ben Schneider under his Lord Huron guise. The four-song effort (five, if you count the album version of the title track) is a multi-textured, immensely uplifting opus that incorporates world music to fine effect. Calypso guitars and samples of rolling waves (‘The Stranger’) nuzzle up beside the much-maligned pan pipes (‘We Went Wild’) to create soundscapes that are as thick as one of Axl Rose’s sandwiches. Schneider’s sugary vocals, meanwhile, are laid-back and pitch-perfect throughout. If Vampire Weekend jamming with My Morning Jacket sounds like your bag, pick this up pronto.
