Beverly Glenn-Copeland announces Keyboard Fantasies 40th Anniversary Reissue

Singer-songwriter Beverly Glenn-Copeland, who goes by Glenn Copeland, announced the release of a 40th anniversary reissue of his 1986 album Keyboard Fantasies on November 27, 2026.

His newly discovered single 'Light Of The Heavens', recorded at the same time as the album, will accompany the reissue.

The Canadian-American singer will also be going on a Europe and Canada tour. The tour begins in November in Calgary, other tour dates include Edmonton, Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Glenn Copeland released an album, Laughter In Summer, in collaboration with his wife and producer Elizabeth Copeland in February 2026. The album was his first output following his dementia diagnosis in 2024.

He recorded Keyboard Fantasies in rural Ontario in 1986. During the album's production he taught himself how to use digital synthesis. He self-released the album, with a 200-copy cassette run. Only a handful were sold, with the rest of the cassettes sitting in storage. In 2015, a Japanese record-collector named Ryota Masuko got into contact with him to enquire about selling the remainder of the cassettes.

Beverly Glenn-Copeland's music saw a resurgence with a new generation, with the singer embarking on a world tour in 2021. He was also the subject of a documentary in 2019, Keyboard Fantasies: The Beverly Glenn-Copeland Story, directed by Posy Dixon.

"At the time that I wrote Keyboard Fantasies, I knew I was in an elevated state because of the environment that surrounded me - the woods and lakes of Northern Ontario were my deepest inspiration," said Glenn Copeland.

"Also, I was so excited to write with computers and all of the new sounds and tools it afforded me. Today, we are happy to reflect on that period of time and the profound impact that the work has now taken on, some 40 years later. We are grateful to the listeners who have found this music, and all they have done to support mine and Elizabeth's work. Thank you for listening."

Glenn Copeland came out publicly as a transgender man in 2002. He was honoured with the 2026 CMF Barrier Breaker Award at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival during the Trans Filmmaker Summit. The award recognises his career that has pushed the boundaries for trans creatives, and inspired generations through music and storytelling.
