Listen: September Girls single
September Girls, whose ranks include former Chalets duo Paula Cullen and Caoimhe Derwin, have released ‘Heartbeats’ as a 7” “sea foam green” single with a jukebox hole, which isn’t a euphemism.
“A tale of unrequited love and betrayal”, it’s taken from the Dublin quintet’s Cursing At The Sea album, which follows in the New Year.
The band are allied to London indie imprint Fortuna POP!
Soundwise, it’s a garagey-y amalgam of Phil Spector, The Byrds, The Jesus & The Mary Chain and all that other good stuff.
Catch them live in Thomas House, Dublin (November 16) and Roisin Dubh, Galway (December 7).
