LISTEN: Royal Yellow shares 'May The First' featuring Lisa Hannigan

Blending jazz, trip-hop and electronica, Irish producer Royal Yellow has shared his new single 'May The First', featuring vocals from Lisa Hannigan.

Royal Yellow has been building up a reputation as one of Ireland’s most intriguing producers since the release of ‘Hazeldene’ in 2017 – a track that's steadily driving towards a million streams on Spotify, and was recently featured in the acclaimed TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People.

On his latest offering ‘May The First’, the producer once again explores the space between old and new, with the pitched-down voice of Lisa Hannigan, sampled from 'Pistachio', providing a stunning refrain.

“Once I heard it I knew that it couldn’t be anything else," Royal Yellow explains. "I was totally captivated. I reached out to Lisa immediately and she graciously cleared it.”
