LISTEN: New Cronin EP
Hear Nelson Riddle before its official release March 2.
Mullingar's Cronin have a brand new EP good to go and today they give the internet a free blast or five. Nelson Riddle, named after Frank Sinatra's string arranger and the man who wrote the iconic Batman TV theme, was recorded in Mick and Johnny Cronin's fantastic Transmission Rooms studio. Considering that place has become a real hub for Irish rock 'n' roll and the brothers' enormous number of musical allies, it's little surprise that the four-tracker guest star-heavy. Terry Edwards (Tindersticks, PJ Harvey, Gallon Drunk) is on string arranging, Helen Turner (The Style Council) is on keys, The Frames brothers Karl and David Odlum feature on 'Overlooking Paris' and former JJ72 singer Mark Greaney joins an homage to the late Gene Pitney with their version of 'Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart'.
Check it out below and, if you like what you hear, purchase it from March 2. It will also be available physically in limited edition through Live Transmission Records.
