Seo Linn's hope to get fans pumped up for France with 'The Irish Roar'
Ireland’s official Euro 2016 song has just been unveiled.
‘The Irish Roar’ is by young Dublin-based outfit Seo Linn who’ll perform it before Ireland’s Friday night friendly against Holland in the Aviva.
“This is a distinctively Irish song for the Rep. of Irish team as they go to France to make the Nation proud,” enthuses FAI CEO John Delaney. “ I would like to thank Seo Linn for composing such an exciting and uplifting song for the Irish Fans and I look forward to hearing The Irish Roar live at the Aviva in front of our great supporters at the Holland game.”
While not prepared to change nationality, we’re seriously loving the Manic Street Preachers’ official ‘Together Stronger (C’mon Wales)’ anthem, and Super Furry Animal’s unofficial ‘Bing Bong’ one.
There’s an updated ‘We’re Not Brazil We’re Northern Ireland’, and ‘Jackie Fullerton Says (I’m In Heaven When We Score)’, both of which feature Mr. F.
The official Euro 2016 anthem, ‘This One’s For You’, has been supplied by David Guetta ft. Zara Larsson. There are no fewer than six unofficial English songs, of which only The Mild Antics’ ‘This Time England’ is the only vaguely listenable one.
