Listen: Grimes shares new single 'Delete Forever'
The song is about the opioid epidemic, written on the night rapper Lil Peep died.
Grimes has just dropped a new single called 'Delete Forever,' to be featured on her upcoming album Miss Anthropocene.
The track is sonically a drastic departure from her previous singles, which include the club-ready tracks 'Violence' and '4ÆM'. It's an acoustic, sombre track she wrote on the night rapper Lil Peep died, according to an interview with Zane Lowe. 'Delete Forever' has a slight country twang to its guitars, with a Grimes touch via drum machine. She sings about the opioid crisis: 'Cannot comprehend, lost so many men / Lately, all the ghosts turned into reasons and excuses'.
Grimes' hotly-anticipated Miss Anthropocene is due on February 21. Other singles 'Violence', '4ÆM', 'So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth' and 'My Name is Dark' will also be on the album.
