Lisa Hannigan nominated for Mercury Music Prize
Kasabian and Florence And The Machine are early front-runners.
Lisa Hannigan has received a major boost by having her debut Sea Sew album nominated for this year’s Mercury Music Prize.
The other runners and riders are:
Bat For Lashes – Two Suns
Florence And The Machine – Lungs
Friendly Fires – Friendly Fires
Glasvegas – Glasvegas
The Horrors – Primary Colours
La Roux – La Roux
Led Bib – Sensible Shoes
The Invisible - The Invisible
Kasabian – West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum
Speech Debelle – Speech Therapy

It’s the first time an Irish act has got a nod since 2007 when Fionn Regan’s The End Of History was pipped to the £20,000 cheque by Klaxons’ Myths Of The Near Future.
The early UK betting has Kasabian and Florence And The Machine installed as early 5-1 favourites.
The winner will be announced in London on Tuesday September 8.
