Lifeline
Still: Lifeline (First Light)
Still: Lifeline (First Light)
I suspect these guys want to trade off all bases like Crowded House and INXS. ‘Lifeline’ takes quite some time to work out its identity problems as a song, starting with a sanded-down hard rock riff before moving to a bridge with a strong similarity to Johnny Nash’s Seventies mellow reggae hit ‘I Can See Clearly Now’. Classic hits formulas can often mean less than classic fits and starts in the songwriting.
