Some of the brightest emerging bands in the country have been lined up for the Guinness 'Our Thursdays' series of gigs that launches in pubs all over Ireland on Thursday, Hot Press can confirm.
With some bands still to be announced, Talulah Does The Hula, The Cast of Cheers, Preacher's Son, Red Twelve, Sounds of System Breakdown, John Shelly & The Creatures, Identity Parade, Fingersmith, Miracle Bell, The Riptide Movement, Henrietta Game and Bill Coleman are among the names that leap out from what is a breath-taking line-up, representative of all of the genres that are causing excitement on the Irish music scene.
The first round of gigs takes place this Thursday, with a complete programme for the first two weeks revealed in the new issue of Hot Press, which hits the streets on Thursday morning.
"Looking through the huge list of gigs, it really is an extraordinary undertaking," Hot Press editor Niall Stokes says. "The list of participants offers a reminder of just how strong the Irish scene is at the moment, with a number of bands releasing great records and knocking seriously on the door of international recognition. Hopefully, Our Thursdays can help to accelerate that process and bring some of the cream of the crop to the top over the coming months."
