In the new issue of Hot Press, drummer Vinny May reveals how much they're looking forward to appearing at the upcoming Jameson Bow St. Sessions - but why those looking forward to a new LP from the Swords quartet may have to be patient
March 16 sees Kodaline come back to Dublin to take their place alongside Walking On Cars, Little Hours and July Talk at Jameson Bow St. Sessions (apply for complimentary tickets here).
The show at The Academy is bound to be an extraordinary event, especially for the Swords quartet, who are currently plying their trade all over Europe on a 34-date tour - and dying to come home.
"We actually used The Academy for some rehearsals before our last album was released, so it's a venue we know quite well," drummer Vinny May tells our man Colm O'Regan in the new issue of Hot Press. "Ironically, it's one of the few Dublin venues that we've never actually played, so we're really looking forward to it."
But those expecting the group to get nostalgic and rehearse new album tracks will be disappointed - as Vinny reveals that the follow-up to last year's Coming Up For Air remains some time away.
"We have 10 or 11 ideas that we keep messing around with during soundchecks," he reports. "But we're going to give this album more time, and not do anything until we're 100% happy. After this tour, we'll go on holiday, take some time off - and then hit the studio to start writing and working. It'll be ready when it's ready!"
