KNEECAP include exclusive unreleased track in digital downloads of new album for this week only
"We're going for as high in the charts as we can..." the group announced on social media.
Following the release of their long-awaited debut album Fine Art last Friday, KNEECAP now have their eyes set on this week's charts – set to be revealed on Friday, June 21. In a final push to help Fine Art debut "as high in the charts" as it can, the Irish hip-hop group have announced that digital downloads of the new album will come with an exclusive unreleased demo track, 'Glue Man', for this week only.
Fine Art is Hot Press's current 'Album Of The Month' – with Will Russell describing the LP as "a bitingly funny, thrillingly audacious record, full of imagination and style."
To coincide with the release, KNEECAP announced a major homecoming show at Belfast's SSE Arena on December 21. As part of their Fine Art Winter Tour, they're also set to play the Gleneagle INEC Arena in Killarney (October 27), and three nights at Vicar Street in Dublin (October 29-31). See more of their live dates, including their upcoming festival appearances, here.
The trio released Fine Art – which was produced by Toddla T – via London-based independent label Heavenly Recordings.
“We’d been writing an album for around two years," KNEECAP's Mo Chara has said of the project. "We’d grown a lot quicker as a band than we were developing our production skills. We were getting big crowds at concerts and we knew needed to go for a bigger producer. When we got into the studio with Toddla T, we scrapped every song we had and started from complete scratch.
"T’s idea was to tell the story of KNEECAP," he continued. "So the record was conceived as the listener stepping into KNEECAP's world. That’s where the idea came to set whole thing in a pub. You walk into a pub at the start, there’s someone offering you a drink, there’s a singsong… really, it’s us taking you by the hand and leading you into our world.”
To listen to 'Glue Man', purchase a digital copy of the album from KNEECAP's official store or Bandcamp.
