The classic Primal Scream album is being re-released in March.
While there’s no sign of those long overdue My Bloody Valentine reissues, Kevin Shields has been gainfully employed these past few months giving Screamadelica a 20th birthday sonic overhaul.
“He’s just really good with sound and frequencies, we thought it was a fun thing to do,” Bobby Gillespie tells the folk at NME. “Kevin’s the one person in the world that all remastering engineers would hate to see walking into the studio. When we did the guy nearly had a fucking heart attack!”
Due here on March 4, the Screamadelica Collector’s Edition will comprise of four remastered CDs and a heavyweight gatefold double LP; the previously unreleased Live In L.A., 1991 album; a CD of remixes by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, BBG, Terry Farley and The Orb; the Dixie Narco EP; a Making Of Screamadelica DVD and bonus videos; a 50-page commemorative bound book; a 12” slipmat featuring the original iconic artwork; a replica tour t-shirt; and five high art cards.
This Friday also sees Primal Scream kicking off a special Screamadelica tour in the London Olympia, which we’d expect to include an Irish date or two.
