It marks the band’s first release in three years.
Dundalk five-piece Just Mustard have released their first single in three years ‘POLLYANNA’, out now via Partisan Records.
Described as “pushing the band’s restless innovation to the fore,” the maximalist track “signalls a moment of evolution for the band,” It was partly inspired by a sense of “toxic happiness”, with the title “Pollyanna" meaning an excessively positive or optimistic person.
The music video for ‘POLLYANNA’ was directed by Katie Bell, who explains: “We shot the video using different CCTV and vhs cameras around our hometown Dundalk trying to have as much fun as possible, the kind of fun that makes you feel sick almost instantly which suits the themes of the song”.

Just Mustard have also announced a select run of shows in intimate venues in New York, Berlin, Paris and London across the month of September. It will follow a number of summer festival dates including Stradbally’s Electric Picnic on August 30.
'POLLYANNA' is the first original music from Just Mustard since 2022’s acclaimed album Heart Under, which was rated a 9/10 by Hot Press, who called it as “thoroughly fascinating record” with touches of “Seventeen Seconds-era Cure” and “a good dollop of Aphex Twin”.
