Junior Brother unveils new music video for 'Week End'
Junior Brother is currently touring his newest album The End across Ireland and the UK.
Junior Brother has unveiled the new music video for his song 'Week End'.
'Week End' comes off of the Kerry singer-songwriter's latest album The End, released in September. The track discusses the frustration of isolation and the mundane within the COVID-era lockdown period.
“Inspired by long, quarantined trips away from my loved one, in my parent’s house with nothing to do but stay inside and fend off madness," said singer. 'This was attempted by trying out joy, in order to laugh it all away. The Chorus’ main lyric, “There is no week end, just days and days and days' was lifted entirely from a quote my girlfriend said at this time, which perfectly summed up those strange, locked-down days.”
The video was released to fans today and was directed by Dublin photographer Ellius Grace, one of Junior Brother's longtime collaborators. Grace centres his art on personal human stories and is known for photographing the likes of Irish stars such as Sinéad O'Connor and Barry Keoghan.
Junior Brother is currently touring The End, with upcoming shows in Derry, Bangor, and Dundalk, including further dates in the UK later this month. On December 21, he will perform as an opening act to Lisa O'Neill at her Vicar Street headline gig.
Tickets for his upcoming tour dates can be found here.
