Johnny Marr reunites with The The for Record Store Day
Smiths guitarist reunites with legendary post-punk band.
Johnny Marr has reunited with The The to release their first song in fifteen years.
The The have been active since 1979, with singer-songwriter Matt Johnson being the only constant member.
Marr served as the bands guitarist from 1988-1994, in which time they recorded the album Mind Bomb with Sinéad O'Connor.
Today it was announced Marr and Johnson would team up as The The once more, to release a new single for Record Store Day.
The song, called 'You Can't Stop What's coming', will be released on 7 inch vinyl come April 22nd.

Record Store Day is an annual event, held every April, to 'celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store', with a number of records pressed specifically for the event every year.
Last year's exclusive releases included albums by David Bowie and Johnny Cash.
Releases announced for this year also include a live album by David Bowie, Iggy Pop's Post Pop depression show from the Albert Hall, and The Cure's greatest hits.
