Razorlight mainman Johnny Borrell opens his solo Irish account with see-the-whites-of-their-eyes shows in Judge Roy Bean's, Newbridge (June 18); Coughlan's, Cork (19), and The Grand Social, Dublin (20). Tickets from €20.40 are available now.
Renowned in the past for his stadium rock aspirations, Borrell will be joined by Zazou for a stripped-down, piano and saxophone-laden set.
While it didn't do much commercially, last year's Borrell 1 album was actually a bit of alt. pop alright.
