Jack White's Third Man Records announces UK and Ireland pop-up shop tour

Third Man Records has announced it's bringing its pop-up experience to the UK and Ireland at the end of the summer.

The independent record label is taking over a selection of independent record shops from August 28 to September 20, and will be stopping in Tower Records on Dawson Street, Dublin from September 1-2.

Founded and owned by Jack White, Ben Blackwell and Ben Swank, the pop-up tour follows the recent release of Jack White's Frozen Charlotte album. First teased through a series of glitches interrupting Third Man Records' livestream webinars.

Coinciding with Jack White's UK and Ireland tour, each pop-up will turn record shops into a temporary "Third Man outpost", with exclusive vinyl, limited edition merchandise, posters and books. With the exception of Glasgow, each pop-up coincides with a Jack White performance in the same city.

In recent weeks, fans have spotted the Frozen Charlatan character from Jack White's album cover making appearances online.

"Rumours suggest the elusive trickster has stolen a cache of Jack White records and is quietly distributing homemade 'bootleg' sleeve editions," says Third Man Records.

The label's name incorporates several elements of personal significance to White. His fondness for the number three is well documented and refers to Carol Reed's The Third Man.

White's pre-White Stripes upholstering company is also named Third Man Upholstery and is similarly identified by the colours yellow and black, with the motto, "Your Upholstery's Not Dead."

Third Man Records has reissued all six White Stripes studio releases on vinyl.

The label's catalogue has grown to over 800 releases, including albums by White's other acts and contributions from Billie Eilish, Neil Young, Metallica, Coldplay and developing artists.
