It's getting ugly out there..
Hotly-tipped Cork trio Ugly Beautiful are set to release their debut single 'Hundred To One' on October 15
They will mark the occasion with a special launch gig in Crane Lane Theatre, Cork the evening before. From their acclaimed nine-track debut album Paradise, 'Hundred To One' has already been lauded as "brilliant" by 2fm's Cormac Battle.
Ugly Beautiful have played in venues like Cyprus Avenue Cork, De Barra's Clonakilty, Bakers Place Limerick, The Crane Lane Theatre Cork, Twisted Pepper Dublin and the Indiependence Festival 2010. They have also shared stages with Villagers and The Maccabees.
"There's an almost flamenco-like majesty about the opening of Paradise (title track) by Ugly Beautiful before it blossoms into a rugged floating track that forms a solid wigout bedrock for Kieran's gritty vocals… The trio from Cork get a bit heavier on 'Hundred to One' with ace guitars and stop-start passages raising the tension" – Jackie Hayden, Hot Press
Upcoming Dates:
Sept 24 - Quad Bar, Cork
Oct 3 – Sunday Roast, Mercantile, Dublin
Oct 12 – NUI Galway
Oct 14 – Single Launch, Crane Lane Theatre, Cork
'Hundred to One' will be available to download from iTunes, Amazon, Napster, eMusic, Rhapsody, Shockhound and DownloadMusic.ie.
