It's a cracker
The 2FM Jacobs Song Contest is back with €10,000 worth of gear up for grabs
There's €10,000 worth of Yamaha recording or musical equipment up for grabs for the winners of this year's 2FM Jacobs Song Contest.
Now in its 22nd year, the competition is open to young musicians of all musical persuasions and culminates in a Grand Final at Dublin's Vicar St. on February 27 2004.
Those who dismiss such contests should note that past winners include UK top 5 resident Naimee Coleman, Bell X1's Dave Geraghty and 2002 victor Laura Isibor who's been attracting widespread record company interest. Indeed, there's talk of the 16-year-old Dubliner signing on the dotted line in the next few weeks.
With €4,000 and €2,000 worth of equipment for the second and third placed acts, it's likely to be a keenly contested affair.
