The Joshua Tree comes at No. 3 on Irish Album Charts
Following the announcement that U2 will be embarking on an American and European tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their groundbreaking fifth album, The Joshua Tree has sailed in at No. 3 on this week's Irish Album Chart.
The resurgence of The Joshua Tree follows news that as many as 1.1 million tickets have been sold already for the tour, which will take place across 30 dates throughout the summer.
While the Croke Park show sold out within a matter of minutes, tickets are not yet on sale for concerts at Twickenham Stadium, London, Stade de France, Paris, and Amsterdam Arena, Amsterdam.
Released to universal acclaim on March 9th 1987 and featuring hit singles “With Or Without You”,“I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Where The Streets Have No Name”, The Joshua Tree went to #1 in Ireland and around the world, selling in excess of 25 million albums, and catapulting Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr “… from heroes to superstars” (Rolling Stone).
