Irish actors prove talent with award nominations

In film news, many Irish features are becoming recognised for their excellence and outstanding motion pictures.
The Santa Barabara International Film Festival has noted Saoirse Ronan and Brie Larson for their performances in both Brooklyn and Room. Both women have been tipped for Oscar nominations in 2016 and this announcement just simply gives the two actresses more ammunition to winning an acclaimed film prize.
SBIFF discussed both actresses in a statement, “This is an incredible year for emerging talent to take centre stage and showcase their abilities. We’ve long been following the careers of Brie and Saoirse and their recent roles as empowered young women transcend time, place and circumstance. We are so proud to be jointly celebrating these two great actresses in such strong performances."
This year's film festival will take palce from February 3 - 13 with the awards being announced on February 8.
