Hot Press features in comedy film
A fictitious female Hot Press journalist from Galway is one of the characters in new comedy Seven Songs For Amy.
The film is “set in the West of Ireland and which follows the story of a struggling musician who writes an album for Amy, the girl he’s supposed to marry but is now in the arms of a global pop star.”
The lead role goes to Lorna Anderson, the 24 year-old best known for gritty Scottish drama River City, and who recently starred in a hit Bollywood movie. The cast also includes Hollywood star Patrick Bergin and Sean Maguire who has EastEnders, Meet The Spartans, LA Blues and Waterland to name but four on his CV.
Fiona Graham, Producer and Writer of Seven Songs for Amy said, “We are absolutely thrilled with this fantastic cast who are perfectly suited to the characters they play and we are sure they will deliver outstanding performances.”
Bergin gets to double-job alongside Jim McKee and Ultan Conlan on the accompanying soundtrack.
Seven Songs for Amy will be directed by BAFTA nominated Konrad Begg (Top Gear, Crimes That Shook the World) and will be shot in Galway, before moving to New York. Watch this space for more news.
