As part of the Live At The Breakwater gig series in Wexford, The Waterboys are gearing up for a major show on August 1 – and we've got a pair of tickets up for grabs, as well as a B&B stay at the 4 Star luxury Talbot Hotel!

Fronted by Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist Mike Scott since the mid '80s, The Waterboys have evolved through countless line-ups over the years – earning a serious live reputation along the way. The current version of The Waterboys features double keyboard players Brother Paul from Memphis and James Hallawell from London, as well as an epic Irish rhythm section made up of Aongus Ralston (bass) and Eamon Ferris (drums).

Together, they reconfigure music from all stages of the band's career, from the early "big music" and the roots-inspired Fisherman's Blues era, to their most recent opus Life, Death and Dennis Hopper.

After launching in 2024, the Wexford-based concert series, Live At The Breakwater, returns to Ferrybank this July and August, promising six nights of big-name headliners and feelgood festival energy, all under a striking big top tent beside the quay.

Curated by Wexford promoters Lantern, Live at the Breakwater has expanded to meet demand, with two extra shows added and a line-up that punches well above its weight. From The Waterboys and Gavin James to Jax Jones, Moncrieff, Amble, and The Whistlin’ Donkeys, the series blends global names with homegrown heroes, all in Ireland’s sunny and scenic South East.
