The countdown is officially on for our A New Local Hero 2026 live finale – coming to The Academy in Dublin on Wednesday, October 28. To celebrate, we're giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets...

A New Local Hero is one of the key elements of Irish Music Month – an initiative of Hot Press and the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland, supported by Coimisiún na Meán.

As part of this extensive nationwide talent search, 21 local and regional radio stations submitted their individual New Local Heroes – which an industry judging panel whittled down to six national finalists. All six are set to perform at this live finale event – with one set to be crowned A New Local Hero 2026.

The finalists performing on the night include: Groev (Galway Bay FM), Rebecca Lane (FM104), RunTheRed (LMFM), Shimmer Boy (Cork's 96FM), Sitting Room (KFM) and WineMom (Radio Nova).

The event will also feature a special guest performance from Dave Lofts, ahead of his run of sold-out international dates.
