Organisational Structure
Hot Press is an independent magazine and media company operating in both print and digital forms. Hot Press is fully committed to enabling, creating and delivering quality news reporting, journalism and editorial content. Hot Press is based in Dublin, Ireland.
Editorial Mission
Hot Press is fired by the belief that culture is central to our quality of life; that access to honest, truthful and accurate news and information is vital; that open debate is good for democracy; and that quality journalism really matters, and can help to shape a fairer, more just and equal society. An essential part of our mission is to focus on music and to champion and support the creative and artistic community in Ireland. In Hot Press and on hotpress.com, we write about all of the things that really matter to young people – of all ages! – in Ireland and beyond. We provide a platform for the discussion of the issues that most affect our musicians and artists. We interview and write about those who are at the heart of the cultural and musical action. Our remit includes music, festivals, films, sport, comedy, games, books, sex, health, the environment, social issues, politics and more. An essential part of our editorial mission is to champion equality for all, irrespective of race, colour, creed or gender – and to do so through independent, quality journalism of the highest standard.
Factual Accuracy and Fairness
Hot Press is committed to fairness and accuracy in all editorial matters and to avoiding the undue personalisation of criticism or adverse comment. Our editorial policy aims to ensure that there will never be any vindictive treatment of individuals or of any abuse of the power that a media platform affords. We have a no-tolerance policy in relation to plagiarism, and our aim is always to attribute in an appropriate and accurate way o sources. If you see anything published by Hot Press that you believe is inaccurate or wrong, let us know at [email protected].
Ethics & Politics
Hot Press is an independent organisation with no ties or affiliations to any political party. It is core to our activities to oppose any prejudiced, cruel, hateful or exploitative treatment of children, marginalised communities, ethnic minorities or others who are disadvantaged or vulnerable. Hot Press aims for diversity in all editorial matters. Feedback from our readers and community is an essential part of our development. We will immediately remove anything which is inaccurate or wrong. However, independent journalism is essential to our mission and it is axiomatic that writers and contributors are free to express their opinions.
