The Northern Irish music veteran has worked with artists such as Dolly Parton, The Strokes, and Tom Waits.
Peter Fleming's songwriting collective, NKP songs, have signed a global administrative deal with Music Under Management (MuM) in the USA. The company is also affiliated with 1630 Music Publishing.
Fleming, who is originally from Maghera in Co. Derry, has over 30 years of music industry experience, from his early work as a musician, to music publishing, PR, and label management. He has worked with artists such as Dolly Parton, The Strokes, and Tom Waits.
He co-founded NKP Songs five years ago along with musician and songwriter Kris Marsden (also known as Kippysmuse). NKP have since developed a substantial catalogue of music.
They originally began collaborating with local talent such as Winnie Ama and Frances Mitchell. The organisation have also formed partnerships with a worldwide network of musicians who have achieved success with artists such as Garth Brooks and Kate Bush, along with producers who have collaborated with the likes of Leonard Cohen and Thin Lizzy.
The collaboration between MuM and NKP marks a significant step in connecting local NI talent with the wider international music community.
Peter Fleming commented on the deal:
"After 35 years of working in the music industry, in roles ranging from label management, publishing to PR, I feel I’ve come full circle.
"I’m back doing what I love, which is writing, recording & producing music. I’m proud of the song writing community we’ve established over the past 5 years, and I feel blessed to be working with some of the finest song writers and artists - to create music that has a global audience."
