Hot for 2020 International Acts: Summer Walker
Watch her entire concert from the 3,000 capacity Terminal 5 in New York, showcases the sweep of her music.
She’s collaborated with Drake and last October’s debut album, Over It, toppled the record set by Beyonce’s Lemonade for the highest ever number of streams in a week by a female R&B artist. The Atlanta native excels at floor-ready bangers and impassioned ballads, topped off by her peerless jazz vocals. She’s a self-starter, too, launching her own cleaning business in 2016 to support herself, as she tried to get her music career off the ground. Rumours that she had Drake in to help with the dusting remain unconfirmed (we’re convinced it happened).
Hear: The obvious starting point is her wonderfully bare-boned Drake hook-up ‘Girls Need Love’.
