Heroes' welcome
A major outdoor performance of Riverdance is being planned for Croke Park as part of the 2003 Special Olympics, being hosted this year in Ireland
Hot Press has learned that a major outdoor performance of the worldwide smash hit show Riverdance is to take place at Croke Park.
The show will be staged as part of the 2003 Special Olympics, which are to be held in Ireland this June. According to industry insiders, the extravaganza is most likely to mark either the Olympics' opening or closing ceremonies, both of which will be held in Croke Park on June 21st and 29th respectively.
Riverdance has toured the world extensively since its debut in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, playing to a combined audience in excess of 12 million people. On this occasion, given the nature of the event, it is likely that a number of guest appearances are also in the pipeline.
