Herbie Hancock set for Grand Canal Theatre
Veteran musician will play the Dublin venue in October.
Herbie Hancock has announced a special appearance at Dublin's Grand Canal Theatre on Sunday, 24 October.
One of the world’s most respected musicians, Hancock has pioneered many genres in his long career- from jazz to hip hop, and electro to R&B. Branching out from his roots in jazz, the singer created a track that became an anthem for a generation in 'Rockit', which was one of the first songs ever to feature 'scratching'.
His latest creation, The Imagine Project, brings together artists from all over the world under the central themes of peace and global responsibility. It combines recordings and film, and features Irish artists The Chieftans and Lisa Hannigan, as well as icons Dave Matthews, Jeff Beck, John Legend, Seal and Chaka Khan amongst others.
Tickets for the Grand Canal Theatre show go on sale this Friday, 10 September, for €49.50 and are available from [link]www.ticketmaster.ie[/link] and usual outlets nationwide.
