Hayley Williams surprise releases 17 new songs on personal website
To access the new material, listeners must first purchase the new shade Ego from Williams' hair dye brand.
Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has surprise released 17 new songs via her website.
The new release was uploaded behind a password-protected page and is not currently tied to any announced album or project.
Access to the songs requires the purchasing of the new semi-permanent hair dye shade called Ego from Good Dye Young, the haircare company co-founded by the 36-year-old.
After purchasing the product, buyers will receive a password to unlock the content.
The uploaded tracks appear to be full studio recordings, spanning multiple genres, including pop, alternative rock and indie.
Track titles include ‘Kill Me’, ‘Negative Self Talk’ and ‘Discovery Channel’.
‘Discovery Channel’ includes elements from Bloodhound Gang’s 1999 single ‘The Bad Touch’.
‘Mirtazapine’ was previously aired on American radio and was performed live at the Newport Folk Festival during the rock band Bleachers’ set, where Williams made a surprise appearance.
In addition to the music files, the site also contains a folder labelled "Misc".
The folder includes images of a t-shirt reading “Hayley Williams Is My Favourite Band,” a live video of the band Phoenix, a voice note of a child saying “I’m sorry that you’re going through something hard,” and an image of lyrics written in a colouring book.
Williams previously released two solo albums, Petals for Armor in 2020 and FLOWERS for VASES/descansos in 2021.
Paramore’s most recent studio album, This Is Why, was released in 2023.
