HamsandwicH debut at number one

Another case of the 'Hot Press Cover Effect'? Far be it from us to say so, but Meath indies HamsandwicH, who featured prominently in our recent 900th issue, have just seen their third album go straight in at number one on the Irish ALbums Chart. Stories From The Sea has outsold Hozier, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and, well, everyone else this week.
Hozier, who made a strong case for Marriage Equality online a few days ago, is in second place with his extremely popular eponymous debut. Just below him is Ed Sheeran's X, while last week's No. 1, Villager's quite brilliant Darling Arithmetic, is at No. 4. 1989 by Taylor Swift rounds off the Top 5.
The next highest new entry is Mundy's self-titled effort at No. 8, while Alabama Shakes' second album, Sound & Color arrives at No 12.
